Decree of the Emperor Theodosius after the Council of 381:

“In this way we believe, according to the teaching of the Apostles and the Gospel, in the sole divinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, on the assumption of equal grandeur and caring Trinity. On our behalf, all who confess to this belief should bear the name .”

All outsiders who disagreed with the Trinitarian confession were named heretics by the Emperor. He warned them of draconian measures just in the same decree:

“The rest, crazy and insane as they are, should bear the shame of their heretical beliefs. Their meeting places should not be called churches. Mainly they should be faced with judgment from above, but also suffer from our disgrace, we are going to show them as per God’s will.“

Alle Außenseiter, die dem trinitarischen Bekenntnis nicht zustimmten, wurden von Kaiser als Ketzer bezeichnet. Im selben Dekret kündigte er ihnen drakonische Maßnahmen an:

„Die Übrigen, wahnwitzig und geistesgestört wie sie sind, sollen die Schmach ihres häretischen Glaubens tragen. Ihre Versammlungsort sollen nicht Kirchen heißen. Sie sollen vor allem die göttliche Strafe, dann aber auch die Strafe unserer Ungnade erleiden, die wir nach Gottes Willen ihnen erweisen wollen.“

»Now in this that I declare to you I praise you not, that you come together not for the better, but for the worse.

For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you; and I partly believe it.

For there must also be factions/ heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

For I have received of the Master that which also I delivered to you, That the Master Yahshua the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me.

After the same manner also he took the cup, after he had eaten, saying, This cup is the new convenant in my body: this do you, as often as you drink, in remembrance of me.

For as often as you eat this bread, and drink the cup, you do proclaim/ show the Master's death till he comes.

Therefore whoever shall eat the bread, and drink the cup of the Master/Yahshua, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Master/Yahshua.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Master's body.«

»Dies aber muß ich befehlen: Ich kann es nicht loben, daß ihr nicht zu eurem Nutzen (auf bessere Weise), sondern zu eurem Schaden (auf ärgere Weise, zum Schlechteren) zusammenkommt.

Ich habe von dem HErrn empfangen, das ich euch gegeben habe. Denn der HErr Jahschua in der Nacht, da er verraten wurde, nahm er das Brot,

dankte und brach es und sprach: Nehmet, esset, das ist mein Leib, der für euch gebrochen/hingegeben wird, solches tut zu meinem Gedächtnis.

Desgleichen auch den Kelch nach dem Abendmahl und sprach: Dieser Kelch ist der neue Bund in meinem Blut, solches tut, so oft ihr trinkt, zu meinem Gedächtnis.

Denn so oft ihr von diesem Brot eßt und von diesem Kelch trinkt, sollt ihr des HErrn Tod verkündigen, bis daß er kommt.

Welcher nun unwürdig von diesem Brot ißt oder von dem Kelch des HErrn/Jahschua trinkt, der ist schuldig an dem Leib und Blut des HErrn/Jahschua.

Der Mensch prüfe aber sich selbst, und also esse er von diesem Brot und trinke von diesem Kelch.

Denn welcher unwürdig ißt und trinkt, der ißt und trinkt sich selber zum Gericht, damit, daß er nicht unterscheidet den Leib des HErrn.«

But whoever keeps his word, in him verily is the love of YAHWEH perfected: By this we know that we are in him.

»Meine Kindlein, solches schreibe ich euch, auf daß ihr nicht sündigt. Und wenn jemand sündigt, so haben wir einen Fürsprecher bei dem Vater, Jahschua den Messias, der gerecht ist.

Und derselbige ist die Versöhnung für unsere Sünde,

nicht allein aber für die unseren, sondern auch für die der ganzen Welt.
