Isabel let me know she received the article, but I haven’t heard from her since. I’ve promised myself I won’t think about it until the publication date. When that day comes, I plan to celebrate with a huge banquet for me and Berta at home. We might invite one more guest to dine with us; perhaps the man who thought he was Vicente Rojo.

SÒNIA HERNÁNDEZ was born in 1976, in Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain). Granta named her one of their ‘Best Young Spanish-Language Novelists’ in 2010. A writer and critic, she has contributed to many publications.

SAMUEL RUTTER is a writer and translator from Melbourne, Australia. His work has appeared in Harper’s , The Paris Review Online , and McSweeney’s , and he is a regular contributor to T , the New York Times style magazine. He lives in Brooklyn.
