2. Mose 14,21.22

Ps 78,14 Er leitete sie des Tages mit einer Wolke und des Nachts mit einem hellen Feuer.

KJV + EL = In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.

2. Mose 13,21

Ps 78,15 Er riß die Felsen in der Wüste und tränkte sie mit Wasser die Fülle

KJV + EL = He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

2. Mose 17,6; 4. Mose 20,7-11

Ps 78,16 und ließ Bäche aus den Felsen fließen, daß sie hinabflossen wie Wasserströme.

KJV + EL = He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

Ps 78,17 Dennoch sündigten sie weiter gegen ihn und erzürnten den Höchsten in der Wüste

KJV + EL = And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the Most High in the wilderness.

Ps 78,18 und versuchten Gott [El] in ihrem Herzen, daß sie Speise forderten für ihre Seelen,

KJV + EL = And they tempted El in their heart by asking food for their desire.

2. Mose 16,3; 4. Mose 11,4

Ps 78,19 und redeten gegen Elohim/Gott und sprachen: „Ja, sollte wohl El/Gott einen Tisch bereiten können in der Wüste?

KJV + EL = Yes, they spoke against Elohim; they said, Can El furnish a table in the wilderness?

Ps 78,20 Siehe, er hat wohl den Felsen geschlagen, daß Wasser flossen und Bäche sich ergossen; aber wie kann er Brot geben und seinem Volk Fleisch verschaffen?“

KJV + EL = Behold, he struck the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Ps 78,21 Da nun das JAHWEH hörte, entbrannte er, und Feuer ging an in Jakob, und Zorn kam über Israel,

KJV + EL = Therefore YAHWEH heard this, and was angry: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

4. Mose 11,1

Ps 78,22 daß sie nicht glaubten an Elohim/Gott und hofften nicht auf seine Hilfe (vertrauten nicht auf seine Rettung).

KJV + EL = Because they believed not in Elohim, and trusted not in his salvation:

Ps 78,23 Und er gebot den Wolken droben und tat auf die Türen des Himmels

KJV + EL = Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

Ps 78,24 und ließ das Manna auf sie regnen, zu essen, und gab ihnen Himmelsbrot.

KJV + EL = And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given food from heaven.

2. Mose 16,4.14.15

Ps 78,25 Sie aßen Engelbrot; er sandte ihnen Speise die Fülle.

KJV + EL = Man did eat angels‘ food: He sent them food to the full.

Ps 78,26 Er ließ wehen den Ostwind unter dem Himmel und erregte durch seine Stärke den Südwind

KJV + EL = He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

Ps 78,27 und ließ Fleisch auf sie regnen wie Staub und Vögel wie Sand am Meer

KJV + EL = He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and winged birds like as the sand of the sea:

Ps 78,28 und ließ sie fallen unter ihr Lager allenthalben, da sie wohnten.

KJV + EL = And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

Ps 78,29 Da aßen sie und wurden allzu satt; er ließ sie ihre Lust büßen.

KJV + EL = So they did eat, and were well filled: For he gave them their own desire;

Ps 78,30 ELBERFELDER 1871 = Noch hatten sie sich nicht abgewandt von ihrem Gelüst, noch war ihre Speise in ihrem Munde,

KJV + EL = They were not estranged from their lust. But while their food was yet in their mouths,

Ps 78,31 da kam der Zorn Gottes [Elohims] über sie und erwürgte die Vornehmsten unter ihnen und schlug darnieder die Besten/ Auserlesenen/ Jünglinge in Israel.

KJV + EL = The wrath of Elohim came upon them, and killed the fattest of them, and struck down the chosen/ young men of Israel.

4. Mose 11,33

Ps 78,32 Aber über das alles sündigten sie noch mehr und glaubten nicht an seine Wunder/ -werke.

KJV + EL = For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.

Ps 78,33 Darum ließ er sie dahinsterben, daß sie nichts erlangten und mußten ihr Leben lang geplagt sein.

ALBRECHT = Drum ließ er ihre Tage schwinden in Nichts / Und ihre Jahre in jäher Hast.*

KJV + EL = Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

4. Mose 14,23

* Anmerkung: bezieht sich darauf, daß alle Israeliten, die aus Ägypten gezogen waren, vom 20. Lebensjahr an, in der Wüste sterben sollten. Nur Josua und Kaleb blieben verschont.

Ps 78,34 Wenn er sie erwürgte/ tötete, suchten sie ihn und kehrten sich zu El/Gott

KJV + EL = When he killed them, then they sought him: And they returned and inquired early after El.

Ps 78,35 und gedachten, daß Elohim/Gott ihr Hort/Fels ist und El/Gott der Allerhöchste ihr Erlöser ist,

KJV + EL = And they remembered that Elohim was their rock, and El Elyon (= the Most High) their redeemer.

Ps 78,36 und heuchelten mit ihrem Mund und logen ihm (belügten ihn) mit ihrer Zunge;

KJV + EL = Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied to him with their tongues.

Ps 78,37 aber ihr Herz war nicht fest an ihm, und hielten nicht treulich an seinem Bund.

KJV + EL = For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.

Ps 78,38 Er aber war barmherzig und vergab die Missetat/ ihre Ungerechtigkeit und vertilgte sie nicht und wandte oft seinen Zorn ab und ließ nicht seinen ganzen Zorn gehen.

KJV + EL = But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: Yes, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

Ps 78,39 Denn er gedachte, daß sie Fleisch sind, ein Wind, der dahinfährt und nicht wiederkommt.

KJV + EL = For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and comes not again.

Ps 103,14-16

Ps 78,40 Wie oft erzürnten sie ihn in der Wüste und entrüsteten ihn in der Einöde!

KJV + EL = How often did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

4. Mose 14,22

Ps 78,41 Sie versuchten Gott [El] immer wieder und meisterten/ kränkten den Heiligen Israels.

KJV + EL = Yes, they turned back and tempted El, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

Ps 78,42 Sie gedachten nicht an seine Hand des Tages, da er sie erlöste von den Feinden;

KJV + EL = They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.

Ps 78,43 wie er denn seine Zeichen in Ägypten getan hatte und seine Wunder im Lande Zoan;

KJV + EL = How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

Ps 78,44 da er ihr Wasser in Blut wandelte, daß sie ihre Bäche nicht trinken konnten;

KJV + EL = And had turned their rivers into blood; and their streams, that they could not drink.

2. Mose 7,19.20

Ps 78,45 da er Ungeziefer unter sie schickte, daß sie fraß, und Frösche, die sie verderbten/ zugrunde richteten,

KJV + EL = He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

2. Mose 8,2.20

Ps 78,46 und gab ihre Gewächse den Raupen/ dem Vertilger und ihre Saat den Heuschrecken;

KJV + EL = He gave also their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust.

2. Mose 10,13

Ps 78,47 da er ihre Weinstöcke mit Hagel schlug und ihre Maulbeerbäume mit Schloßen;

KJV + EL = He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-trees with frost.

2. Mose 9,25

Ps 78,48 da er ihr Vieh schlug mit Hagel und ihre Herden mit Wetterstrahlen/ den Blitzen;

KJV + EL = He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

Ps 78,49 ELBERFELDER 1871 = Er ließ gegen sie los seines Zornes Glut, Wut und Grimm und Drangsal, eine Schar/ Sendung von Unglücksengeln.
