What a temptation! To control the sexual drive and integrate sexuality as an expression of love into the whole person, which is a unity of mind, soul and body, has always been a challenge since the expulsion from paradise. It was the most obvious differentiating factor of the early Christians from their pagan environment.

Countless generations before us aligned themselves to that challenge and built up the magnificent, unparalleled European culture by their sacrifices. And here comes Marcuse and his colleagues of the Frankfurt School and seduces a generation by presenting sexual satisfaction, devoid of any moral limitation, as the path to peace and happiness for all.

Fifty ears later we live in the social and psychological ruins that a demoralized sexuality creates with no paradise at the horizon, but a new totalitarianism creeping into our society and undermining our democratic polity. It cannot be otherwise: As Alexis de Tocqueville discovered when rendering an account for the working of Democracy in America in 1835: Christianity is the foundation of democracy, because it teaches people to strive for goodness – a task that the state can never perform.

The cultural revolutionists in the wake of 1968 are radical atheists, that hate the Catholic Church, unless they put on a cloak of modernist, liberalistic theology to undermine the Church from within.

The blunt attack on Christian sexual morality by the followers of Wilhelm Reich and Herbert Marcuse took a sophisticated turn in the 1990ies by the creation of gender theory. Gender theory takes the sexual revolution to the very foundation of human existence by proclaiming that we can choose and change our sex voluntarily. It denies the fact that we a born either as man or as woman (not considering rare irregularities in nature that are called intersexuality). This train of thought has detached itself from reality and reason, from science as an endeavour committed to truth. If you can change your sex voluntarily, the gate is open to any kind of “polymorph sexual perversity” – an aim of the postmodern philosopher Michael Foucault. Gender ideology has established itself in the universities as the prerequisite for career, just as dialectical materialism had done under communist dictatorship. Money flows in abundance from the EU, the state and foundations into projects that sail under the flag of gender equality and sexual diversity.

Marquis de Sade in his novel Justine already fantasised the achievements of gender ideology in 1791: “I want to marry twice in the same day. At 10 in the morning, dressed as a woman, I want to marry a man; at 12, dressed as a man, I want to marry a homosexual dressed as a woman.» 2This sort of confusion has reached the British Royal Family in 2018: Lord Ivar Mountbatten, the Queen’s cousin, divorced his wife Penny, with whom he has three daughters, and married a man. At the royal ceremony Penny walked down the aisle with the new partner and put his hand into the hand of her former husband. Most likely, they will have increased the demand on the market of therapy for their three daughters – but who cares about children in our post modern world! Happiness of adults, or should we say the liberty to indulge in vices, seems to have become the sentinel of law making in our time.

THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION GOING GLOBAL

Bringing down the bourgeois society was the declared aim of Marx and Engels, who laid down the theory of a classless, communist utopia in the middle of the 19 thcentury, which brought about bloody revolutions, but no utopia. The main obstacles were private property, religion and the family, and they set out to destroy them all. They devised long term strategies, put into action by short term tactics.

The revolutionary tactics for the Western world were refined in the times of the Cold War after the end of the 2nd World war. In 1958 Cleon Skousen, former FBI Agent, published the book The Naked Communist . He laid out 45 Communist Goals, which subsequently have been almost completely realised. Here are those relevant to the sexual revolution:

(24) Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them «censorship» and a violation of free speech and free press.

(25) Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

(26) Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as «normal, natural and healthy.»

(17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

(20) Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

(18) Gain control of all student newspapers.
