Льюис Бернстайн. Нэмир (1888‒1960) – английский историк польского происхождения (Людвик Немировский), эмигрировал в Великобританию в 1907 г., закончил Бэлиол колледж в Оксфорде. На основе детального исследования сотен биографий парламентариев XVIII в. показал несостоятельность либеральной ортодоксии, прославляющей вигских вождей как защитников народа и борцов против роялистской тирании.
