I cannot count the number of hours I spent on the treadmill, miserably trying to work off calories. Years later, I understand that by approaching exercise as an exhausting chore, I was hurting myself more than I was helping. Not only had overexercising exhausted my adrenal glands and made my symptoms worse; constantly punishing myself was emotionally taxing.
