Liberals’ hatred of Valentine’s Day goes far beyond the typical complaints about the commercialization of the day, or the social pressures to buy candy and flowers, or even the “poor single people” who feel left out. Many are now upset that it’s a holiday which celebrates heterosexual couples and armed with one of their new buzzwords, Leftists are waging war against the “heteronormative” holiday.

‘Heteronormative,’ in case you’re having a hard time wrapping your mind around this insanity, means that heterosexuals are considered normal (which we are), but that’s seen as a problem to the LGTB-whatevers, since they are not.

The “Everyday Feminism” website published a story complaining that, “Heteronormativity and gender roles also rear their ugly heads on Valentine’s Day,” and went on to say that, “Gifts for ‘him’ or ‘her’ are clearly divided and marked and it’s almost impossible to find cards that represent queer couples.” 562

The student newspaper at California State University, San Marcos published a story titled, “Heteronormative Valentine’s Depictions Marginalize LGBTQIA+ Community,” which whined about how “The holiday perpetuates a fixed depiction of couples and romance as primarily held between a man and a woman.” 563

The author went on to blame “the media” for the “acceptance of heteronormative relationships” as being normal and complained that there aren’t enough portrayals in movies and TV shows of those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

A student group at Yale University hosted an “Anti-Valentine’s Day” event to fight “capitalism” and “heteronormativity.” The group’s flyer read, “Are you going out this Wednesday out of respect to a tradition rooted in capitalism and heteronormativity? Or have you slipped through the cracks to suffer the awkward, social consequences of aloneness on Valentine’s?” 564The event was started by a group called Engender, which wants to force fraternities to accept women (but of course, leave sororities as they are, for women only).

An elementary school in Saint Paul, Minnesota canceled Valentine’s Day arts and crafts and banned the children from bringing any cards or candy to the school. The principal sent a letter to the parents saying, “My personal feeling is we need to find a way to honor and engage in holidays that are inclusive of our student population.” 565

He went on to say, “I have come to the difficult decision to discontinue the celebration of the dominant holidays until we can come to a better understanding of how the dominant view will suppress someone else’s view.” 566I wish I could say this is just a joke, but it’s not.

Leftists won a major legal victory in 2017 when a judge ordered a small bakery in Oregon to pay a lesbian couple $135,000 for “discriminating” against them after the owners refused to make them a custom “gay” cake for their “wedding.” 567It sparked a serious debate about what potential customers could force businesses to do or face similar lawsuits. This was different than refusing “service” to them because they’re gay.

They could have purchased any of the pre-made cakes, but the bakers wouldn’t use their artistic talent to create a custom cake for something that went against their religious beliefs. This is not a case of a business turning away customers because they’re gay. It wouldn’t matter if a straight customer wanted the gay cake made. It’s the design of the requested product, not the sexual orientation of the customer that’s the problem.

If an artist (and a pastry chef is an artist) feels uncomfortable with a design that a customer wants them to create, whether they’re a pastry chef, a painter, or a t-shirt printer, that person should be able to legally refuse to make the product. This is completely different than a customer wanting to purchase pre-made products already on the shelf in a store. It’s about not being forced to build something that fundamentally goes against someone’s religious or personal convictions.

Should a black pastry chef be forced to design a special cake depicting KKK members hanging an African American from a noose? Should a Jewish bakery owner be forced to make a special cake with a giant swastika on it for a neo-Nazi’s birthday party? Should a photographer be forced to take nude pictures of a client? What about a videographer being forced to shoot porn for someone? When it comes to hiring an artist, no potential customer should be able to force them to use their talent or equipment to create something that they don’t feel comfortable creating.

Liberals just can’t seem to understand how this is completely different than flat-out refusing to allow gay people into a store or restaurant. They’re free to buy anything that’s on the shelf available for anyone, but they shouldn’t be allowed to force someone to make them a custom product that violates that person’s values.

A man in New Mexico figured if same-sex couples can now get “married” and force Christian bakeries to bake them a custom cake, then he could marry his laptop. He then sued the same bakery that was sued by a lesbian couple for refusing to bake a cake for them, demanding the bakery make a cake for him and his laptop “bride.” 568

He was just doing this to prove a point, taking the liberal position of “equality” to the next step. He then sued the state of Utah to officially recognize his “marriage” to his laptop, which he labeled a man-object marriage for “machinists” like him.

If a child is born with Type 1 Diabetes, we wouldn’t say that the child is “normal.” We would admit that the child has a birth defect — that their pancreas is malfunctioning. Same thing is true with a child born with a cleft lip. We wouldn’t celebrate the fact that the child’s lip is deformed. And we wouldn’t ignore reality and say that it’s normal. The child undergoes surgery to fix the deformity and doctors do their best to prevent other children from being born with deformities and diseases.

But what we’re seeing today with regards to gays and bisexuals is the liberal media and tech giants celebrating them as if they’re special, and denying that they have a malfunction. It’s like the Bible prophecy that predicted in the End Times what is right will be considered wrong, and what is wrong will be considered right. 569

Comedian Adam Carolla has stated that in the future teenage boys may be bullied if they aren’t bisexual. Speaking as a hypothetical teen in the future, he said sarcastically, “You don’t suck dick? What’s wrong with you?” 570He also wondered, “The way things are going, my son will probably get his ass kicked for not being gay.” 571

Carolla is a rare conservative in Hollywood, who owes much of his success to The Man Show which aired on Comedy Central from 1999 to 2004, a show that would likely not be allowed on a major network today due to it’s “sexist” themes. In 2011 he published a book titled In 50 Years We’ll All Be Chicks , and it seems his prediction may come true to a large extent, in half that time.

Since simply calling homosexuality a disease, a birth defect, or a mental disorder, is considered to be a cardinal sin by the PC police; getting academic institutions or medical research facilities to invest their time and resources into looking for a cure would be blasphemy. Lack of folic acid in a woman’s diet during pregnancy causes spina bifida, a birth defect that has largely been eliminated in the modern world thanks to a simple prenatal multi-vitamin. 572
