I would like to share this homage to the sun and to love in

the “land where dreams come true”.

My name is Tommy. I am five years old. I don’t have a

brother or a sister. I like to play a lot. My grandmother

was an artist; she painted with many colors all the time.

My grandmother liked to play with me. She gave me a blank sheet of paper and let me draw by her side.

I always spied on her and copied what she drew.

One day we invented a very funny game: she would draw a sun

for me every morning. When I woke up, I had to find it

and tell its color.

One day, Granny drew me a sun... and it was red!

I had breakfast and then left for kindergarten.

The next morning, I found another sun. This

time… it was orange! What a beautiful sun!

Granny was very sweet. She was as sweet as honey. Her

cheeks were pink and warm. I liked to give her lots of kisses.

She tasted like pumpkin pie!

She always said I draw pretty suns and stars.

One day, when I woke up, I was dazzled by something.

I opened the window and I found out it was the sun

that my granny had given me that morning.

But it was... yellow!

It was still dark when I woke up another day, and

I found a surprise... Granny had drawn a star and a

white moon for me.

Oh, Granny Gloria! I went over to her bed and gave her a

“thank you” kiss.
