В римскую эпоху мода на гороскопы распространяется как в Риме, так и по всей империи. Император Август обнародовал свой гороскоп, а на римских монетах стали чеканить изображение козерога, зодиакального знака императора.

Мифология и богословие семи планет оставили след в системе счисления: семь дней недели, семь ангелов Апокалипсиса, семь небес и семь кругов ада, ритуальная лестница из семи ступеней 'в культе Митры и т. д.
