Аполлодор в своем сочинении излагает другую версию. Гея, возмущенная тем, что Уран держит ее детей в Тартаре, убедила титанов напасть на него и дала Кроносу серп, сделанный из адаманта. Все, кроме Океана, приняли участие в нападении на отца, и Кронос отсек ему гениталии и бросил их в море у мыса Дрепанон, что в Ахайе (греческое drepanon — серп). Из капель крови, упавших на Землю при оскоплении Урана, родились Эринии.
