“We shall have a lovely time. Elaine, it is for you to kiss now,” I averred.

She would have stepped back, I do believe, if he had not turned and grasped her immediately. Twisting her face in some confusion, she allowed his lips to fall upon her neck, staring blindly the while through the glass-panelled doors that led into the conservatory. In releasing me, both his hands were free to seek her bottom, which they did fervently.

“Come, dear, be not shy-give me your mouth,” he husked.

The moment, I saw, was one of intense passion on his part. Elaine could not but help feel the considerable protrusion of his cock through his breeches. I saw her distinctly tremble. Her face dropped and was hidden to his shoulder. Very delicately then his hands played all about and beneath her bottom cheeks, causing her hands to press against his chest.

“Shall you be so coy in Paris?” he asked and therewith lifted her chin so that she was forced to return his gaze.

“I know not, Papa,” Elaine trembled. Giving her no respite, he then brought her mouth to his. She would have escaped it had he not cupped the back of her head much as he was doing with her bottom. I held my breath, for there seemed to me no more stirring a sight. Her lips moved petulantly but then was taken again. As subtly as one playing a violin, he fingered all about her bulging nether cheeks again, kissed her more deeply until her knees distinctly bent and then released her with as gay a laugh as might have been managed in such moving circumstances. The state of his erection being obvious, I wagged my finger playfully at him.

“Dear Uncle, you must not be naughty with us too soon,” I laughed and, taking Elaine by the wrist, guided her out.

“Oh, what have you done?” she asked, “really, Papa is too wicked!”

“'Twas but a kiss and a caress, you sillikins. We shall have enough of that soon. Come, we must look to our wardrobes for I am sure the ladies of Paris will try to outdo us in all respects and that we cannot allow!”

So cozening and teasing her, I finally overcame all her reluctances, for seeing that I treated the matter so lightly, Elaine thought to do the same, being reminded by me of her earlier remark about her Papa's tool.

“Oh, but I did not know. I was but jesting to make you think me the more daring, Arabella.”

“Well, whether that is so or whether it is not, the truth of the matter is not to be denied,” I declared, whereat she could not help but ask if I had done it with him.

Of course she knew well enough what I must have been about, yet was intent on making it appear that I now was more wicked than she, though not in an unkindly manner but one which most slyly encouraged me to urge her on, thus changing the positions in which we had first found ourselves when I was seemingly under her tutelage.

“As to that, you will see well enough in Paris, for being divorced as we shall be from troublesome eyes and ears then I am sure nothing at all will be hid and we may make as free as possible. Do you not think Pearl a most delightful lady? I am sure she means the best for us,” I added quickly to divert her.

“Well, indeed yes, though until now I never suspected it of her. Do you think she might now seduce your Papa and encourage him to venture with us?”

“No-for that would be most improper,” I said without thought and with such quaintness, such as I least intended, that we both fell to hugging one another in our laughter, this proving as great a release as any from the sense of excitement we both sustained. All seemed most natural by now, though had the shoe been on the other foot and I in Elaine's place, I know not how I might have comported myself. My father, being as chalk to cheese in respect of my uncle, was a studious man of quiet manners and with a very fine sense of the conventions, though he displayed no stuffiness in such matters.

Mama, on the other hand, was more frivolous, and perhaps they complemented one another. It was she who for the most part encouraged my freedoms, saying often that a young lady must find her own way in the world. To this Papa had only once or twice mildly objected. I, being the apple of his eye, he wished no harm to come to me. Nor had it, as I deemed, for I was sensible enough to know that what a female enjoyed in bed with her husband, she might also enjoy elsewhere. Such women who see the delights of copulation as a sin rather than a blessing are to be pitied rather than scorned. Some may be led to it, as I was to discover. Others, being frigid of nature, forever dwell within their own consciences and apprehensions as to what is right and what wrong. Such is called morality. I am thankful that I have never abided by it, for it is as if one scattered precious seeds on barren ground in the sun and left them to dry until the husks fall apart and the seed itself is left to wither, forlorn.

A girl who is well and frequently fucked may be seen by her bright complexion and her general merriness to be so. This is not to say that she is too open in her favours, nor that she is boisterous. To the contrary. I always comported myself with the selfsame discretion as Pearl had wisely spoken of. I have refused males who were too ruttishly eager. By doing so I have cloaked myself in a certain exclusivity that may yet unwind at will. Those who raise eyebrows at my behaviour with my cousin and uncle should well give pause to consider the utmost privacy in which such things occurred. In truth, our foray into the party of the Eastwoods had carried with it a scent of indiscretion, yet such must befall all newcomers who then learn thereby. Tongues knew better than to wag lest others be wagged back at them.

Thus did my philosophy grow, albeit that it is a simple one. I make no claim for cleverness. Fortunate it was that Elaine and I were of the same mould. Our cunnies, once having tasted cock, pouted for more. The divine pleasures of seeing one another in rut were yet to develop.

CHAPTER six

Tout le monde were in Paris when we arrived some ten days later, for it was well past Easter and the season was in full swing. To be seen in the Bois de Boulogne around noon was essential if one were to be counted among the Upper Ten Thousand of France. Before we did so, however, Pearl was insistent that we clothe ourselves a la mode, being none too pleased with the gowns and hats we had brought, for Paris fashions change so rapidly that one must ever keep up with them.

My uncle's purse suffered much depletion as a result of this, but the outcome was so much to his taste that he averred it well worth while, being thankful perhaps that we had not gone to Monsieur Worth but to a smaller salon where decolletage was accepted as a sine qua non of revealment, which Monsieur Worth evidently abhorred, having decreed with a woodenness that came, I am sure, from his English origins that he dressed only ladies. Being told this, Elaine responded that we were not ladies but were enjoying ourselves. Both of course were true, but I admired her for her spirit which had so risen that she seemed to care not a jot what she did, provided it was not in public.

For my own part I was as a bird released from a cage All about us were strangers and it was indeed in this sense as if we were attending a perpetual masque. Pearl had done her work well with my parents, for neither made any remonstrance upon my going, Papa warning me only to take care of all that I did.

As to our accommodation, there could have been none finer. Elaine and I possessed a suite of our own in a hotel close to the Champs d'Elysees while my uncle modestly had a separate one from that of Pearl. That we would not long suffer the privations of isolation was made clear to us by our official “chaperone” upon conducting Elaine and I on the first morning to the coutouriere.
