Dr. Dormann concludes in his report that incestuously inclined couples of the 1970s are running away from situations they firmly believe will disorganize them make them incapable of functioning, or performing normally. In many such instances, the couples involved have a perfectly valid reason for turning towards the family for sexual release. Their fears are not unfounded or irrational. And Dr. Dormann states in his report, "… in many cases fears are quite proportionate the threat, and we can keep them in control by developing skills and competence and by forcing ourselves to take action instead of stewing…"

Fear is not a reaction that occurs to people during their adult years. But it is not innate. It is a learned response. The Encyclopedia tells us that, "… fear of strangers and strange places commonly occurs around eight months of age and is not as some parents believe a sign of emotional instability, or an attempt to embarrass them. Rather, it is merely an attempt by the child to convey a message, a message that informs his parents he is being threatened by the environment, by the unfamiliar. He apparently feels more secure with people and places he knows, especially when he has formed close relationships with them…"

As the child matures he usually loses the greater amount of his fear of the unknown. But a goodly portion of the population, both men and women never do lose this early day fear of unknown places and unknown people. They cling to the familiar. They are only comfortable around people they know and trust. These are the people who eventually turn to incestuous conduct. They are, in the words of Sigmund Freud, "incest-prone".

As these incest-prone people reach puberty, they tend to fantasize sexual relations and masturbate. Invariably these masturbatory sessions include fantasies of incest. The boy visualizes himself in bed with his mother, and the girl with her father, or in any familiar situation that comforts them. It is a short and easy step for such incest-prone people from the fantasy to the reality of incest. Indeed, the act of having sex with mother is more natural than having sexual relations with a total stranger.

In The Basic Writings of Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, and a scientist who spent many years delving into the motivations behind incestuous conduct, wrote that, many fears (of the incest-prone) are learned through conditioning and spread through one situation to another by a process known as stimulus generalization… "A man who fails to achieve an erection grows more fearful until he is totally incapable. He has convinced himself that the reason for his impotency centers around the person of his partner. She can't be trusted, or she is un-thoughtful or selfish and not considerate of his own sexual needs. But a member of his own family displays all the attributes he requires from a sexual partner, an consequently, he discovers that with his own daughter, or own niece, or own aunt, he is not sexually incompetent. To the contrary, he performs lustily and without the slightest fear or reservation. Naturally, he prefers incestuous sex, a relationship where he feels comfortable and secure."

Another reason for the increase in "incest prone" people is the way American raise their children to be overly competitive about sex. This motivations is further explored by Dr. Albert Ellis in his best-selling text, Sex Without Guilt. He states, "… our boys and girls are made to feel that, above all, they must succeed, achieve, win out in the social-sexual game. They must not merely enjoy themselves on their dates and eventually achieve good marriages but they must date the best boy or girl in the neighborhood, be the finest lover for miles around, and have the greatest home and family…"

Many boys and girls are simply not equipped for this kind of competition, and become fearful about the opposite sex. Instead of trying to relate to the opposite sex as an individual, they strive to relate in a way, or in an image that will find approval in the eyes of their parents. Of course, many of them fail, and in failing become fearful of sex. These boys and girls eventually turn inward for sex but not to their parents whom they have come to loathe and hate for pushing them into situations they couldn't cope with. Instead, they confide their anxieties to an, older aunt, or uncle and have sex with close but not immediate members of the family.

This book documents four case studies of people who were incest-prone from their earliest years. They failed to find sexual happiness outside of the family structure. Eventually, they all returned to the warmth and security family sex offered them.

In the first case, a fifteen-year-old boy from a middle class family is forced by his social climbing parents to date girls from wealthier families. He isn't accepted by the richer people and develops a neurosis about his rejection. He turns first to a comforting older aunt and then to his own grandmother. Both older women take him to bed to reassure, and comfort him.

Case History Number Two documents a woman's attempt to find security after the sudden death of her husband. Her attempts fail until she takes her oldest boy to bed and make him the head of the family. They reside as man and wife.

The third study relates the problems of business executive who finds himself suddenly impotent. He tries many cures and they all fail. But when he confides in his daughter, he discovers he can become sexually potent again. He and his daughter live as man and wife.

The fourth case documents the history of an aging matriarch of one of America's wealthiest families. After passing the menopause, she discovered that her appetite for sex had greatly increased. Her much older husband could no longer satisfy her. And yet, with her wealth and position, she feared outsiders. Her husband suggested, she turn inward to her own family. She did. In quick succession, she seduced her nephew, and grandson. She found the answer to her problems in exclusive incestuous sex.

Case subject: Bobby T.

Age: 15

Sexual History: The son of a small town merchant and a socially ambitious mother, Bobby T. was pushed by his parents to try and date only daughters from the wealthiest families in town. Because of his prowess in sports he was accepted to a point. But because of his social standing was rejected by most of the girls. His attempt to have sex with the more sophisticated, wealthier girls ended disastrously. In desperation, he poured out his problems to his aunt, and later his grandmother. Both older women seduced him. He found sexual happiness with them.

ANALYST: Do you have sexual relations with your own aunt?

BOBBY: Yeah. I fuck her almost every day. She's got a big cunt and craves a lot of meat.

A: And you also have sexual relations with your own grandmother?

B: Oh sure. She's a great fuck. All that gray hair around her pussy sure turns me on.

A: Do you date girls your own age?

B: Not anymore.

A: You did date girls your own age then?

B: Yeah. Not because I wanted to. My old lady is one of those social climbers. Always after me to go out with the cunts from the wealthier families, and I did just to please her.

A: But you didn't enjoy dating girls from a wealthier class?
