“Are you okay?” Christian asked, sitting slowly back, his cock sliding out.
“Yeah,” I gasped, blinking in the dimness, still trying to see. Was that shadow really there? Had Doc been watching us? I wanted to believe it. I wanted to think he’d been standing outside the door, Mrs. B downstairs on the couch watching Letterman while he snuck upstairs, his curiosity too piqued not to pursue it. I wanted to believe he’d taken out his cock and stroked it while he watched and listened to me having sex with Christian. That he was thinking of me-wishing it was my pussy he was pounding instead of his fist.
Then the light from the hallway disappeared. Someone pulled my door, and it closed with a little “snick.”
And I knew.
Chapter Five
I’d never seen a cuter baby in my life, and I thought I was a pretty good authority on the subject. When you spent most of your teen years babysitting and then decided to become a nanny, you see a lot babies. I’d seen them from newborn on up, and this sweet little four month old girl was the cutest I had ever seen.
“How’s my little bug?” I cooed, situating her in the umbrella stroller and buckling her in. She was literally my bug tonight, in her red and black spotted ladybug costume, giving me a toothless smile and kicking her little black Mary Jane’s in excitement.
“You have Holly?” Mrs. B called down the stairs. She was up there putting the finishing touches on Janie and Henry’s costumes.
“She’s in her stroller!” I called up.
“What a darling.” Doc was late. He came into the kitchen still wearing his white coat. At least he didn’t have a stethoscope hanging around his neck. He dropped a Walgreens bag loaded with candy onto the middle of the kitchen table.
“Isn’t she?” I squeezed Holly’s chubby little cheek and she wiggled all over like a puppy.
“I meant you.” Doc slipped off his white coat, along with his leather jacket-two things that seemed at a strange juxtaposition to me. His gaze, the way he looked at me, made me feel warm all over, my toes curling in my own Mary Jane’s.
“Oh.” I blushed. I actually blushed. God, this man had an effect on me. “You like it? Mrs. B helped me pick it out.”
“I bet she did.” His gaze swept from my toes to my nose, our eyes meeting at last. And when they did, something inside me melted into a little puddle. Maybe that was why I was so suddenly wet.
“Well she’s dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She came up with the fairy tale theme,” I explained. I knew I was talking just to stave of my apparent nerves. Where did those come from?
“Except for our little ladybug here. She just couldn’t resist and she said this costume would keep her warmer. Are you getting dressed up?”
“Oh no, I’m staying home to pass out candy.” He picked up the bags, carrying them to the kitchen counter and opening a cupboard, searching. “And I’m the official photographer of course. Speaking of which, I have to go get my camera.”
“Are you looking for something to put the candy in?”
I interrupted his search-he was looking in the wrong cupboard-bending over and turning the carousel cupboard. I grabbed the biggest Tupperware bowl I could find, turning around to present it to him, and saw a dazed look in his eyes, a half smile on his face, and realized I’d just bent over in my short little black Red Riding Hood skirt. My cape was too short to cover my ass, even standing up. Thankfully, I was wearing black tights underneath.
“Careful,” he said, his voice low, eyes growing dark. “Don’t tempt the wolf.”
I knew I shouldn’t but I did it anyway, turning back to the cupboard, murmuring, “I think we have a bigger bowl,” as I bent again, further this time, my skirt hiking high up on my ass. I heard the hiss of his breath, feeling the blood rushing to my head. God help me, I was imagining him grabbing my hips, yanking up my skirt, ripping my tights, and taking me, bent over in the kitchen, while his wife was upstairs.
“Guess not,” I said, brushing my hair out of my face as I righted myself, and there he was, right behind me, hips pressing me against the edge of the counter so I had to place my palms flat on the surface to keep my balance. His cock was like steel, an iron bar against the ass I’d just been teasing him with.
“Wolves are very dangerous, you know.” He placed his palms on the counter beside mine.
“You don’t think Little Red can handle herself?” I glanced over my shoulder, meeting his dark gaze. What was happening? Some part of me thrilled at it. Another part of me balked. It was the wrongest thing in the world to be doing this, imperceptibly grinding my hips back against his erection, but it felt so right.
“Is Doc home yet?” Mrs. B called down the stairs. “Did I hear his car?”
“I’m home!” he called and I felt the shift in his hips, the way he rubbed his cock up and down, into the crack of my ass through my skirt. “I’ll be up in a minute.”
He grabbed my hips, holding me to him, hard, hard, and I gasped. Then he let go, walking away without another word.
I took a deep breath, going back over to the counter, opening bags of candy while Doc stopped at the stroller, looking down at the baby.
“Hey, pumpkin.” He squatted down, squeezing Holly’s foot, making her squirm and smile. “Gonna take lots of pictures of you, little one. Your first Halloween.”
“Isn’t she sweet?” Mrs. B came sweeping down the stairs, looking adorable in her Little Bo Peep costume. Her skirt was short too, ruffled pink and white. She bent to pinch Holly’s cheek. It was hard not to. “My precious.”
Mrs. B couldn’t resist. She clicked the snap on the belt, lifting the baby out of her stroller.
“I just got her buckled in,” I protested, pouring Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into the bowl.
“Oh she can be rebuckled.” Mrs. B snuggled the baby, showering kisses on her little face, leaving lipstick marks I’d have to wipe off before we took pictures.
“Look at you!” Doc exclaimed as Henry tromped down the stairs in his boots, his face painted, thanks to his mother, like a cat-Puss in Boots. Janie behind him, wore a long satin dress, the right half pink, the left half blue. She was going as Sleeping Beauty. “And my little princess. You look beautiful.”
Doc kissed his daughter’s cheek as she came into the kitchen before he headed up the stairs.
“Where are you going?” Mrs. B called.
“To get my camera.” He was already halfway up.
“You gonna be warm enough in that?” Mrs. B asked, eyeing my skirt. “Guess we should have thought of that when we ordered these, huh?”
Your husband has been keeping me more than warm enough, I thought, but didn’t say it. I still wondered about that night I’d brought Christian home. Had he really been watching us?
“All that walking, I’ll be fine.” I assured her, pouring Kit Kats into the bowl.
“Can’t we go by ourselves?” Henry begged for the ten millionth time. I rolled my eyes, opening a Kit Kat and breaking off a wafer, putting it in my mouth while he and his mother argued and Puss stamped his boot.
“Henry, I told you, no! You’re not old enough yet.” Mrs. B bounced the baby on her hip. “Besides, who’s going to carry Holly’s bucket?”
Henry scoffed. “We have to trick or treat for her?”
“Well she can’t do it by herself,” his mother replied.
“She’s not going to eat any candy.” Janie, whose ingenious pink and blue dress idea had come straight from the Disney movie, was brushing her long, blond hair, which we thankfully didn’t have to cut after our summer gum wad incident. “Why do we have to get any for her?”
“Because I said so,” Mrs. B said, removing one of her blond ringlets from the baby’s chubby fist.
