> I am just from the demonstration. Yesterday the coup committee banned all the meetings and demonstrations. along with cut-off of all but nine Moscow newspapers. Today many papers were. published as leaflets and demonstrations did take place. The major one. had been scheduled to be held at Manezhnaya sq., next to Kremlin, but the square was blocked by armoured vehicles and soldiers (without. ammunition I dare believe). So that one demonstration and meeting started. at noon by the House of Soviets (Russian Parliament and current Yeltsin’s. residence), another — at Tverskaya str in front of. Moscow City Council (1 km from Kremlin). The latter joined the former. at appr 2 pm, totally some 100 thousand people attended (my estimation). Among spokesmen were President Yeltsin of Russia, the Veep Aleksander Rutskoy, former foreign minister Ed. Shevardnadze, former Gorbachev’s Chief Advisor Aleksander Yakovlev, retired KGB Gen. Oleg Kalugin and others. No attempts were made to dissolve. the meeting. It is still unknown where President Gorbachev is held. Про это эту функцию социальных сетей — правда, уже на примере ЖЖ, а не «ньюсов» или IRC, — Линор написала в журнал «Большой город» в начале 2005 года. Статья называлась «Средство моей информации» и была одним из первых текстов в неспециализированных СМИ, где автор предлагал читателю отнестись к «Живому журналу» и его пользователям серьезно. Позже и сами пользователи, и их френды, и весь внешний мир начали относиться к блогам как явлению очень серьезно, почти утратили самоиронию и быстро довели эту серьезность до уровня звериной. Но в 2005 году серьезное отношение к ЖЖ все еще казалось авансом, хотя главные информационные подвиги интернет-пользователей и блогеров к этому времени были уже совершены: освещение операции «Буря в пустыне» в IRC и августовского путча — в новостных группах Usenet’a, а «Норд-Оста» и захвата школы в Беслане — в «Живом журнале».

«Во время “Норд-Оста”, как объясняли мне недавно, информация про газ появилась в “ЖЖ” раньше, чем в СМИ, — от тех, кто выкладывал ее с места событий по мобильному телефону, — писала Линор в “Большом городе”. — И во время Беслана были люди, чьи близкие оказались в заложниках и к кому совершенно незнакомые пользователи приходили со словами утешения. Я впервые увидела Линор в интернете в 2000 году: она раздавала пирожки. На сайте «Русского журнала» шла игра под названием «e2 — e8», или «игра в интертекст», которую она придумала и вела.

По шахматной доске вместо фигур передвигались литературные произведения; задачей участников игры было построить как можно более короткую цепочку из явных, неявных, сознательных, случайных и самых безумных аллюзий и интертекстуальных отсылок, которые бы связывали, на первый взгляд, совершенно не связанные друг с другом тексты, — вроде «Белой гвардии» Булгакова и «Записок о Шерлоке Холмсе». Авторы самых коротких и элегантных интертекстуальных цепочек награждались виртуальными пирожками. «Молодец, возьмите с полки пирожок», — писала Линор на правах ведущей, предлагала на выбор несколько произведений, к которым нужно было протянуть цепочку интертекста в следующем туре, а потом подводила общий пирожковый счет. Вокруг этой игры довольно быстро собралось сообщество, которое вообще всегда собирается вокруг проектов Линор Горалик: люди, слегка помешанные на чтении, время от времени живущие в интернете, образованные, обеспеченные, много путешествующие и много работающие, но готовые за виртуальный пирожок сделать больше, чем за месячную зарплату менеджера средне-высшего звена.
