Maybe you have an ideal mate or relationship in mind and are determined to find that and only that. If so, it might take a very long time. Getting stuck on "the one" is something "avoidant" people often do in order to keep true intimacy at bay. Instead of waiting for "the one,” change your mindset: Choose someone, allow him/her to get close, and make him/her special to you.

You are not a man or woman of your words; your action does not reflect your words

If you talk about how you’d “just love to meet somebody special,” but never actually put yourself in a position where you could meet that special someone, then you have no reason to wonder why you are still single. Your future partner isn’t going to magically appear before your eyes. If you want them, you have to go get them! Make a dating profile, go to a bar, or coffee house, or park, or even a book store. If you see someone who catches your eye, march right up to them and introduce yourself.

When you are use to E-Romance, getting married will be far from you.

Online romances just aren't the real deal. They may meet some of your attachment needs, but not in a real way. Even if you "graduate" from email to voice, that's not good enough.

You Fear Becoming Dependent

Some people avoid committed relationships because they worry they'll become dependent on their mate. They think people must retain their independence at all costs. This kind of relationship simply doesn't exist. We're all hard-wired to become dependent; the trick is to find the right person to depend on. When you are in true love, your dependent will not bother you.

You Think Love Conquers All

Certain red flags indicate you're dating someone with an "avoidant" attachment style – a person who is unlikely to make for a satisfying mate. Does he/she send you mixed signals? Tell you he/she needs a lot of space? Does he/she say or do things that make you feel like you represent some sort of "compromise?"

Maybe it's time to move on.

Finding your God given spouse has nothing to do with your looks, age or income. It’s good to have those things if you can but in the spiritual world they are of little or no significance.

In the book of Genesis 24:3-4 when it was time for Isaac to get married, Abraham sent his servant to his country with strict instruction to get a wife for his son.

He knew that God hated "unequal yoke" of marriage with unbelievers. Till today that is still the stand of God.

A misstep in this area can spell doom and gloom for an individual up to many generations, while the right choice can open the door to favor, bliss and something really close to heaven on earth… this side of eternity!

Lord, let my spouse be a person who loves you wholeheartedly in the name of Jesus.

Lord, establish our home according to the scriptures in Jesus name

Father, let all satanic barriers keeping us from meeting each other, be dissolved in Jesus’ name.

Lord, send forth your warring angels to battle and release my spouse wherever s/he is held captive in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I believe you have created me for a special person; bring him/her to pass in the name of Jesus.

I now call him/her out of obscurity into my life in Jesus’ name.

I reject the provision of counterfeit spouse for me by the enemy in the name of Jesus.

I cut off the flow of any inherited marital problems into my life in the mighty name of Jesus.

O Lord, let the spirit of patience reign in my life until my rightful life partner comes in the name of Jesus.

Household powers stopping me from meeting my life partner die in Jesus name.

You evil veil blocking my God-ordained life partner and I from noticing and attracting each other, catch fire and burn to ashes.

Every evil magnet mongering me and my God-ordained life partner stay away from each other, be shattered in Jesus´ name.

Every evil program for my marital destiny be deprogrammed in the name of Jesus!

The Lord has assured me that he knows the plans for me to get married as soon as possible. O lord, manifest your life in my life.

O Lord, manifest your life in my ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Prayers for my future spouse

Prayer points:

O Lord my father, let my future spouse be close to you, love you, walk with you, that he continues to grow spiritually and is prepared to be the spiritual head of a household, and that he/she makes God the top priority in his/her life.

O Lord, let my future spouse hear your voice and work according to your will.

O Lord, let my spouse emotional health be in good condition, that any past wounds be dealt with and healed.

O Lord, let my spouse physical health be sound in the name of Jesus Christ.

Pray for his career, his life’s work, that he be established in the field where God wants to use him and that he be wise with his resources.

Pray for his ministry—that he be sensitive to God’s call on his life when it comes to ministering to and serving others. Also, pray for God to prepare both of you for the ways you will minister together.

Pray for his preparation—that he yields to all that God’s potter’s hands would like to accomplish in him.

Pray for God to send any trials necessary into his life that will allow the preparation process to be complete. I realize that may be a bit controversial. Knowing how much God has accomplished in my life through trials, I would expect nothing less of my husband’s journey toward me.

As I am a woman I Pray for God to prepare my spouse to be a father, if the two of you will ultimately raise a family together.

O Lord, bless my future spouse tremendously to the level that he/she will be able to bless others in the name of Jesus Christ.

O Lord, let my spouse be a man/woman of integrity, have self-esteem and grow into the man/woman God wants him/her to be.

As a woman pray for your future spouse to not be distracted by any counterfeits—especially other women that God doesn’t intend to use for his growth.

As a woman pray for God to allow your future husband to see you the way God wants you to be seen, with God’s heart toward you.

If you are woman, pray for God to show you how to pray for your future husband. Be open to whatever His Spirit may whisper to you, to cover your husband’s needs. If you feel God gives you something specific, write it down and date it. Save it for later.
