Here we have one of the main headlines of the year ahead. Jupiter, your love planet, moved into your 7th house of love last year on November 9 and will be there for almost the whole year ahead – until December 3. This is a classic signal for love, romance and serious relationship.

But this Jupiter transit is stronger than usual. Jupiter is in his own sign and house where he is most comfortable and powerful. He is basically well aspected. And, as he is also your love planet, social grace and magnetism are unusually powerful right now. For singles this indicates serious romance – a serious kind of relationship. It might not mean a literal marriage (though this is likely) but a relationship that is ‘like’ a marriage.

After two years of having Saturn in your 7th house of love, when relationships were severely tested and the social life in general was restricted, this is a welcome change. Love is doubly happy these days. You deserve it.

For those who are married, for those whose marriages have survived the past two years, this transit shows more romance in the marriage and more socializing in general. As a couple you’re meeting new and significant people. You’re attending more weddings and parties. Your social sphere is enlarged.

Singles will also experience some of this. Aside from romance, the general social sphere will be enlarged.

Jupiter moving through the 7th house can also indicate business kinds of partnerships – these too are ‘like a marriage’.

Many a marriage dissolved in the past two and a half years, and this year the prospects for a second marriage are excellent. For those of you working on a third marriage, the prospects improve after March 7. But even if marriage doesn’t happen you will have a happy social life.

With Jupiter in his own sign and house this year (until December 3), many of your natural love tendencies are greatly magnified. You’re attracted to foreign partners, and highly educated and refined kinds of people. You always have a tendency to fall in love with the professor, minister or mentor, and this year even more so. You like people you can learn from.

Religious and philosophical compatibility is even more important than usual. Even if everything else is good, if there are problems here the relationship will be in trouble. You don’t need to agree philosophically on every little detail, but you need to be on the same page – to agree the basics.

Love and social opportunities happen in foreign lands, at your place of worship, at religious functions or at educational-type functions (college or university functions). A trip to an exotic place can not only lead to romance, but will enhance an already existing one.

Children and children figures in your life have had unstable love lives for many years. There have probably been divorces. After March 7 their love lives start to stabilize. Siblings or sibling figures are having a good social period until March 7.

Neptune, the most spiritual of all the planets and your career planet, in his own sign and house is more powerful than usual. This has been the case for many years now and will be so for many more. We have discussed the mundane ramifications of this, but the real message here is ‘get right spiritually and your career will fall into place’ – it will be something satisfying and harmonious. It might not be easy – it seldom is – but it will give you fulfilment and be something you’re capable of doing. The best thing you can do for your career is to get into right alignment with the Divine within you (under whatever name or concept you have). We could say that your spiritual practice, your spiritual path, is the real career these days – everything will flow from that.

There are other things – important things – happening in the spiritual life this year. Uranus is making a major move from your 11th house into your spiritual 12th house on March 7. Your spiritual life and spiritual activities are going to become very exciting now – and for many years to come. It will be full of change and experimentation. Spiritual experiences – even peak experiences – can happen suddenly and out of the blue. A lot of your old concepts and attitudes about spirit will get challenged and many will have to be revised or discarded. Spirit itself will show you what is what.

Beginners on the path will be like the sannyasin of old – the wandering seeker who travelled from one guru and holy man to another seeking wisdom and enlightenment. I wouldn’t take this too literally though. Times are different today. Rarely do people wander the forests in search of gurus. Today, they wander bookshops, workshops and seminars. They join different spiritual groups for short periods of time, searching, searching, searching. There’s nothing wrong with this, by the way. It’s a natural stage on the path.
