Марио Ливио (1945) – астрофизик, автор многочисленных научно-популярных книг, многие из которых стали признанными бестселлерами.
Учился в Еврейском университете в Иерусалиме, где защитил диплом по теоретической физике частиц. Также учился в Институте Вейцмана, где и защитил докторскую степень физика-теоретика. С 1981 по 1991 год был профессором физики в физическом факультете Техниона – Израильского технологического института.
