Kay had really sealed the matter for him, he thought as he slammed the door of his car and locked it. Ruefully, he thought about her refusing to sleep with him the night before… of all nights… of all times! He'd really needed her then, especially after that torrid scene with Ginnie at the bank. Christ, he'd needed some action! He had tried during the two and a half years of their marriage to keep his mind largely focused on other things… his work and getting ahead had consumed most of his energy, but now, Jim felt as if a dam were bursting inside him. All the pent up emotions that he'd had all along were just breaking out, and he had to do something about them! And do it now!
Slowly, Jim walked up at the graduated steps to the front door of the large house. He was annoyed as he realized that he felt a little like he used to feel when he was a kid, dating some girl from school. He took a deep breath and rang the bell. Who the hell could Ginnie know who lived here? he wondered.
When Winthrop Morgan opened the door, Jim was stunned! And for a second it looked as if the older banker was stunned too, but then Winthrop smiled widely and opened the door further. They had met before of course, but only on business matters, and Jim had always looked up to the older man, admiring his strong grip on the community of Granger, and the respect that he commanded from everyone for miles around.
"Why, it's Jim… Jim Carroll, if I am not mistaken…" Morgan announced, drawing the shocked young man into his living room. "Let me take your coat. Not snowing out there tonight, is it? Know we had a few flurries today, but the real thing isn't due until the weekend. Isn't that the way it always is?" He was taking Jim's coat, hanging it up, and leading him toward the other side of the room where the lights were dim and there was a glowing fire in the fireplace.
"Someone is here, who's expecting you, I believe… I must say, she has good taste," Morgan said, and Jim could see a form shaping from the shadows. Ginnie stood up, and moved toward him. Instinctively, he backed away from her, but Winthrop Morgan kept leading him forward.
"So you know Jim, Winnie," the girl said coyly, using Morgan's nickname to impress the younger banker.
"We've met," Morgan said, his dark eyes twinkling. "But I'm especially glad to see him in a more informal setting! What do you drink?"
Jim sat down and felt Ginnie taking his hand in hers as she settled next to him on a low bench next to the fireplace. "Martinis if you go 'em," Jim said, expulsing his breath as though he'd just gone through a great effort.
Morgan went in search of the drinks, and just then the bell rang again. Jim hurriedly turned to Ginnie. "Is someone else coming?" he asked. Beads of sweat were standing out on his forehead. He wanted nothing more than to get out of there, but he couldn't very well dash out of Winthrop Morgan's house like a fool. He had to stay just to find out what the hell was going on.
"How do you know Morgan?" Jim hissed almost angrily at the teenaged girl beside him.
"He's an old friend… I told you. Don't worry, Jim… everything's cool." Her hand was moving slowly on his arm, and he fought down an urge to move it. He looked toward the door and saw Winthrop Morgan's rather portly form greeting two arriving couples with warm gestures of welcome. Quickly, Jim scanned their faces to see if they might know him or his wife, Kay, but to his enormous relief, he saw that they were complete strangers to him… maybe from another town, he speculated, since they looked so totally unfamiliar.
"Who are they?" he asked.
"Oh, just Olga and Henry and Theresa and Jeremy… they're from Albany."
Jim laughed nervously and made a scoffing sound in his throat. "Sounds like Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice!" he said.
To his surprise Ginnie replied, "Yes, but those four had been swapping for years before that movie came out. They've been doing it since they called it 'balling' instead of 'swinging'!"
Jim gasped, but there was no time to say anything. They were coming towards them with Morgan leading the way. The elder banker made the introductions and then set about making drinks for all of them. Jim wondered at the fact that a man in Morgan's position had no servants at all. He made careful small talk with the couples, who sat on low hassocks in front of the fireplace, noting that they were definitely on a lower social scale than he would have expected for friends of the well-known Winthrop Morgan. They made noticeable mistakes in grammar and were good-naturedly what Jim knew his wife would describe as "lower-middle class".
But the martinis were there, and the drinks helped noticeably. Jim began to unwind a bit, and even found he enjoyed the down to earth friendliness of Morgan's guests. Cautiously and consciously, he set out to make a good impression on the wealthy banker who was his host. If they were friends of his… well then they were all right with him. Sometimes he hated Kay's phony pretentiousness, anyway… He, himself, was the son of a grocer, and Kay's father had been a garage mechanic before his death, just as her brother Ed was now!
The second round of drinks came and then the third. Jim was feeling a very pleasant warmth, and Ginnie's cuddling close next to him was beginning to affect him. She'd gotten up a couple of times, and he'd gotten a good look at her tight little shorts. She was one honey of a horny little girl!
Soft music came from a continuous tape deck hidden somewhere in the large room, and most of it seemed to have a sensuous beating undertone that brought to mind dark jungles and sultry native dancers, bongo drums and eroticism beneath lace-like palm fronds. Jim sat back and watched as the others got up to dance. Beside him on the bench Ginnie was sensually stroking his hand. He raised his martini to his lips with the other. Imperceptibly, he could feel the pounding surge of his blood flowing throughout his body, and the soft, spongy tissue of his cock began to swell with a smoldering desire.
Morgan began to dance with one of the women, Jim thought that her name was Olga. She was a big and buxom brunette with one of the finest pillow-asses that Jim had ever seen. His wealthy host did not seem impervious to her charms as he pressed her willing body close to his, and let his hands roam farther and farther down Olga's back until he was cupping her voluptuous buttocks in his hands. They danced in this lewd position until there was a lull in the music and Morgan, perspiring heavily, returned his partner to her husband. Jim could see them in conversation but they were just far enough away so that he could not quite hear what they were saying. Theresa, a petite red-head with a large sensuous mouth and her husband Jeremy stopped doing a funny ballroom number in the middle of the floor and joined the others.
Ginnie was breathing softly, quiet beside Jim, and just as he was beginning to get bored watching the other guests and wondering what they were up to, Ginnie began to nibble moistly at his ear. A surge of electricity spread throughout his nervous system. This was one of those swinging parties, he'd heard about. There'd been rumors about them for some time now, but never anything concrete… and now here he was attending one! The whole thing seemed absurd, but the young banker rationalized that even his wife Kay would not begrudge him being in the intimate company of the famous Winthrop Morgan. She would be even more aware than he of the potential to their position in the small town of Granger. This thought eased the small tendrils of guilt that remained in his mind. Was it his fault if Winthrop Morgan was a dirty old man?
The realization that he was going to fuck little Ginnie that night, right in Winthrop Morgan's house, was becoming more and more vivid to him, and the thought created an undercurrent of excitement inside him that he was beginning to enjoy.
